Website design and illustrations for Antra’s Summer Solstice Wedding Festival in the Californian Sierras. Serving as both an invitation and an information hub for guests, the website was full of custom illustrations to spark delight while embodying the event’s intended mood and energy.
Design Problem:
Craft a website to serve in place of physical wedding invitations. The visual communication must be so compelling that potential guests are persuaded to travel, in many cases internationally and at a great expense, in order to attend. The illustrations should capture the Sierra Mountains' landscape, the festival-like atmosphere of the event, and personal elements that reflect the couple’s life together. The illustrations are to reference elements of the American West and Latvian solstice folk culture. The illustration compositions must be adapted and optimized for both desktop and mobile formats to ensure a seamless user experience.
